Jenny Neelands Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll

STORRS, Conn. (November 14) - Senior setter Jenny Neelands (Gainesville, Fla.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll following her performance in her final weekend as a Husky as announced by the league office on Monday.

Neelands had 92 assists for the weekend, including 56 in the Huskies 3-2 victory over Pittsburgh on Friday evening. She also tallied six kills on the weekend, picked up 19 digs and had four blocks. Neelands closed out the season with 1,133 assists, the 10th-best single season total in UConn history.

She also closed out her career with 2,753 assists and will leave UConn with the fifth-best assists total all-time. In her 323 games and 101 matches played, Neelands also had 796 digs and 125 blocks for her career.

The Huskies wrapped up the 2005 season with a 15-13 overall record and a 7-7 mark against BIG EAST competition.
