SAAC Minutes – January 30, 2005
 

̃    Welcome back from break!

 

̃    Guest Speakers:     Dolan Evanovich, Vice Provost for enrollment management

                               Jeff von Munk-witz-Smith, Registrar

They talked about the upcoming enrollment growth, course availability, and package schedules.  They are currently trying to boost summer enrollment to help athletes in a more efficient way.  Their goal is to have students graduate in four years; the average is 4.5.  They are working together with CPIA counselors and want any suggestions, thoughts or concerns to help them help us.

 

̃    Social Events:         Jessie Lennon and Joel Legare started a sign up sheet for help with the athlete formal to be held in April.  Any help with plans would be great.  Thursday Night of Fun; an idea that athletes get together on a popular drinking night instead of going to the bars.  Some ideas were: bowling, game night, scavenger hunt, and movie in the swimming arena.

 

̃    Community Service:           

Dr. Bruening showed a slideshow of all the activities that the athletes have helped out with.  More sign up sheets were passed around for the Catholic Worker House.  And a day of Sportsmanship will be held on March 17th.   Sign up sheets also went around for the Book Drives on February 5th, and 9th, and the Midnight Marathon.  Sex and Excess surviving the party, February 6, 2005.  The PAAC/SAAC Luncheon will be on February 22nd at the Alumni House.  All our encouraged to come, please invite teammates and RSVP to Bill.
