SAAC Minutes – January 30, 2005
 

Þ    Welcome back from break!

Þ    Guest Speakers:     Dolan Evanovich, Vice Provost for enrollment management

                               Jeff von Munk-witz-Smith, Registrar

They talked about the upcoming enrollment growth, course availability, and package schedules.  They are currently trying to boost summer enrollment to help athletes in a more efficient way.  Their goal is to have students graduate in four years; the average is 4.5.  They are working together with CPIA counselors and want any suggestions, thoughts or concerns to help them help us.

Þ    Social Events:         Jessie Lennon and Joel Legare started a sign up sheet for help with the athlete formal to be held in April.  Any help with plans would be great.  Thursday Night of Fun; an idea that athletes get together on a popular drinking night instead of going to the bars.  Some ideas were: bowling, game night, scavenger hunt, and movie in the swimming arena.

Þ    Community Service:           

Dr. Bruening showed a slideshow of all the activities that the athletes have helped out with.  More sign up sheets were passed around for the Catholic Worker House.  And a day of Sportsmanship will be held on March 17^th.   Sign up sheets also went around for the Book Drives on February 5^th, and 9^th, and the Midnight Marathon.  Sex and Excess surviving the party, February 6, 2005.  The PAAC/SAAC Luncheon will be on February 22^nd at the Alumni House.  All our encouraged to come, please invite teammates and RSVP to Bill.
