ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

The University of Connecticut is seeking applications for two paid internship positions in the Athletic Communications Office. The interns will serve as the primary contact for several sports as assigned, involved with special projects as they develop, and will assist with other programs including football and men’s and women’s basketball.

Qualifications: bachelor’s degree required; excellent communication and writing skills required; previous media relations and sports information experience strongly preferred; knowledge of NCAA rules strongly preferred; experience with desktop publishing software (QuarkXPress, PageMaker, or InDesign) as well as Photoshop highly desired; working knowledge of the StatCrew statistical software package, specifically for soccer, volleyball, basketball, ice hockey, and baseball/softball strongly preferred. Ability to work athletic events, irregular schedules, weekends and evenings are required. This is a 12 month appointment.

Interns will be provided a total compensation amount of $26,360.00.
