Intramural/Special Events Intern

The University of Connecticut is seeking qualified candidates for a paid Intramural/Special Events internship position with the Department of Recreational Services. The intern will be responsible for assisting with planning, organizing and evaluating all activities associated with the Intramural sports and/or special events program. Responsibilities include planning necessary staff/official clinics and meetings, supervising and evaluating student officials, staff and supervisors. The individual selected will be afforded the opportunity for a practical experience in a comprehensive and progressive collegiate recreation sports program. The intern will become acquainted with many procedures, policies and philosophies associated with recreational sports administration. Evening and weekend hours required.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or related field required. Strong human relations skills required. CPR/First Aid certifications preferred. Prior officiating experience preferred.
