Morrone Stadium Ranked Among Nation's Best Soccer Venues

STORRS, Conn. (April 24, 2008) - Joseph J. Morrone Stadium, the home to University of Connecticut men's and women's soccer, has been named the fourth best soccer venue in the United States, according to Goal.com. DC United's RFK Stadium was ranked No. 1, followed by Indiana's Armstrong Stadium and Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles.

O'Brian White Collects NSCAA Player of the Year Honors

BALTIMORE, Md. (January 19, 2008) - O'Brian White (Scarborough, Ontario) was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Player of the Year Friday at the Marriott Waterfront in conjunction with the 2008 NSCAA Convention. The award completes the trifecta of Player of the Year awards for the junior forward, as White has already been named the Soccer America POY and M.A.C Hermann Trophy recipient.

Julius James; Ryan Cordeiro Selected In MLS SuperDraft

BALTIMORE, Md. (January 18, 2008) - University of Connecticut men's soccer All-American Julius James (Maloney Gardens, Trinidad) and Ryan Cordeiro (Highland Mills, N.Y.) were selected in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC and DC United, respectively, from the site of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) convention Friday.

O'Brian White Wins Men's Soccer M.A.C. Hermann Trophy

SAINT LOUIS, Mo. (January 11, 2008) - University of Connecticut men's soccer player O'Brian White (Scarborough, Ontario) has been named the winner of the 2007 Missouri Athletic Club (M.A.C.) Hermann Trophy, the most prestigious individual award in intercollegiate soccer. The award is the official National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Player of the Year award for Division I competition.
