1981
 *Len Tsantiris is named as head coach for UConn. Tsantiris
graduated from UConn
in 1977 and coached the E.O. Smith girls’ high school team prior to coming back
to his alma mater. In his first season with the team, UConn finished third
in the AIAW Tournament. Mary Lou Breen, Moira Buckley, Tara Buckley, and
Felice Duffy were named as All-Americans.
*Moira Buckley still holds the number one spot in All-Time
Career Points with 166 despite playing in 15 fewer games, on average, than
current players.
*Tara Buckley is the only four-time All- American in UConn Women’s Soccer
history.
She was a National team standout, and the first of only two players to
have her jersey, #5, retired. Len Tsantiris
*The Buckleys and Missy Morrone, daughter of
Joe Morrone, the former head
coach for UConn Men’s Soccer, earned All-America Status.
