1994

*In a year many predicted to be a "rebuilding year," freshman Sara Whalen and two other freshmen earned starting positions to help the Huskies advance to the NCAA semifinals.

*Connecticut finished at 19-4 while placing Sara Whalen and senior goalkeeper Jill Gelfenbien on the NCAA Final Four All-Star team. In her red-shirt season, Karen Warner earned All-American honors.

*Sara Whalen is the fifth player in the history of the program to earn All-American honors for three consecutive years. A defender turned forward in her senior year, Whalen is only the second player in Connecticut history to have her jersey, #8, retired. Whalen was on the National Team that won the the             Jill Gelfenbien            World Cup and earned a bronze medal at the Olympics.
