Men's Tennis Falls On Day One Of BIG EAST Championship

STORRS, Conn. (April 17, 2008) - The ninth-seeded University of Connecticut men's tennis team fell to eighth-seeded Villanova, 4-2, in the play-in match of the BIG EAST Championships Thursday afternoon on the P.E. Courts at the University of South Florida. The Huskies end their season with a 6-9-1 record.

Men's Tennis Earns Ninth Seed; BIG EAST Field Set

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (April 15, 2008) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have earned the No. 1 seed in both the men’s and women’s BIG EAST Tennis Championships. The championships are set to begin on April 17 at the USF Tennis Courts in Tampa, Fla. This is the fourth consecutive season that the Bulls have hosted the BIG EAST championships.

Men's Tennis Shuts Out Holy Cross, 7-0, On Senior Day

STORRS, Conn. (April 10, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men's tennis team blanked Holy Cross, 7-0, Thursday afternoon on the UConn Tennis Courts in the final home match for seniors Mike Bobitski (Fort Myers, Fla.), Christian Malerba (Derby, Conn.) and Aaron Ribchinsky (Ivoryton, Conn.). The Huskies finish the regular season with a 6-8-1 record.

Marist Defeats Men's Tennis, 6-1

STORRS, Conn. (April 8, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men's tennis team was undefeated at home heading into Tuesday's match against Marist, but Red Foxes ended the streak by defeating the Huskies, 6-1, on the UConn Tennis Courts. The Huskies are now 5-8-1 on the season heading into their regular-season finale Thursday.

Men's Tennis Wraps Up Weekend With Loss, Tie Against BIG EAST Foes

VILLANOVA, Pa. (April 6, 2008) - The University of Connecticut men's tennis team finished the weekend road trip with a loss against Georgetown on Saturday and a tie vs. Villanova Sunday. The tie resulted from a split in singles play and the inability to complete doubles action due to weather and court availability. UConn is now 5-7-1 on the season and 0-4-1 in the BIG EAST.
