UConn SAAC To Hold Annual Coat Drive At Rutgers Football Game on October 22

STORRS, Conn. (Oct. 5) – The University of Connecticut Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will hold a “Coat Drive” at the UConn vs. Rutgers football game on Saturday, Oct. 22 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.

Fans are invited to bring their “gently-used” coats to the game, which will be collected by SAAC members at all entrances to the stadium. The Coat Drive is an annual event by the SAAC and has been extremely successful over the past several years as over 3,000 coats were collected last year.

The coats will be donated to various charities around the area, including the Windham Area Interfaith Ministries, Willimantic Salvation Army, Cornerstone Foundation of Rockville, the Village in Hartford and the Manchester Area Council of Churches

Nationwide Moving and Storage will donate the use of a truck and the boxes used for collection at this year’s drive.
