Career:
Appeared in 15 games with eight starts … Gained 828 yards on 167 carries
with three touchdowns … Boasts 24 career receptions for 28- yards and
one score … Has also returned 12 kickoffs for 213 yards.
2007:
Appeared in 11 games with eight starts … Named second-team All-BIG EAST
… Led the team with 828 rushing yards on 167 carries (5.0 avg.) with
three touchdowns … Also caught 24 passes for 280 yards and a touchdown,
the most receiving yards by a UConn running back in the FBS era … Shared
the team’s Offensive MVP award after the season with fellow tailback
Donald Brown … Picked up three offensive game balls during the season …
Had four 100-yard rushing games … Had 209 all-purpose yards in the win
over USF (Oct. 27) with 167 rushing on 32 carries and 42 through the air
on three grabs … That came on the heels of a 170 all-purpose effort
against Louisville (Oct. 19) in which he gained 115 rushing with a
season-high 55 receiving yards. His fourth quarter touchdown capped
UConn’s stirring 21-17 come-from-behind win over the Cardinals … Scored
both rushing and receiving against Akron (Sept. 29), gaining 116 yards
rushing on just 12 carries to accompany 52 receiving yards on four grabs
… After missing the first two games, had 129 yards on 21 carries against
Temple (Sept. 15).
2006:
Played in four games, making his debut at South Florida (Oct. 7) and
then appearing in each of the final three contests as a kickoff returner
… Had 12 kick returns for 213 yards (17.8 average) … Named the Special
Teams Scout Team Player of the Week prior to the Army game (Oct. 14).
2005:
Redshirted.
High School:
Rushed for 1,018 yards as a senior with 20 touchdowns … Named second
team All-State and first team All-Area as a senior in 2004 … Helped New
Brunswick to a 33-2 record from 2002-04, including the 2003 state
championship and three straight conference titles … Earned four varsity
football letters … Was a high school teammate and next door neighbor of
former Husky Marvin Taylor … Member of the school’s Honor Roll.
