ball-carriers this fall.
Career:
Has played in 24 contests, starting 10 at tailback … Carried the ball
331 times for 1,717 yards with 15 touchdowns … Also has 27 career
receptions for 151 yards and a pair of scores.
2007:
Appeared in 12 games with five starts, missing only the Virginia game
(Oct. 13) … Led the team with eight touchdowns … Ran 170 times for 821
yards (4.8 avg.) while catching 14 passes for 85 yards out of the
backfield … Shared the team’s Offensive MVP award after the season with
fellow tailback Andre Dixon … Led UConn with 72 rushing yards against
Wake Forest (Dec. 29) … Capped the regular season in style, rushing for
129 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown at West Virginia (Nov. 24)
while catching three passes for 24 yards to give him 153 all-purpose
yards against the Mountaineers … Just missed the century mark against
Syracuse (Nov. 17) as he gained 99 yards on 22 carries with a score …
Ran for a season-high 154 yards on 24 carries with a touchdown against
Rutgers (Nov. 3) to earn UConn’s offensive game ball … Scored two
touchdowns in the win over Temple (Sept. 15) … Fell just shy of the
100-yard milestone at Duke (Sept. 1) in the season opener, gaining 99
yards on 19 carries with a touchdown.
2006:
Played in all 12 games and took charge after an injury to Terry Caulley,
starting each of the final five contests and earning All-BIG EAST
recognition … Was the only freshman in the entire league to be named
All-Conference in 2006 … Gained 896 yards rushing on 161 carries (5.6
average) with seven touchdowns while catching 13 passes for 66 yards and
two more scores … Also returned nine kickoffs for a 23.3 yard average …
Had three 100-yard games in his five starts and four in all on the year
… Averaged 134.6 yards per game rushing in his five BIG EAST starts …
Capped the season with a 122-yard effort on 21 carries at Louisville
(Dec. 2) … Shared the offensive game ball with D.J. Hernandez after the
overtime win against Pittsburgh (Nov. 11) when he ran the ball 43 times
for 205 yards and two touchdowns while catching four passes for 26 yards
and a third score in the game. The 43 carries ranked second in both
UConn and BIG EAST history. It was just the 14th 200-yard rushing game
in UConn history and the first since 2003 … Just 20 minutes from home in
his first career start, ran for 199 yards on 28 carries at Rutgers (Oct.
29) with two touchdowns, the first 100-yard rushing game allowed by the
Scarlet Knights in two years’ time … In his collegiate debut, carried
the ball nine times for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the second
half of UConn’s win over Rhode Island (Aug. 31).
2005:
Redshirted … Named the Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week prior to
the West Virginia game (Nov. 2).
High School:
Rushed for 2,032 yards as a senior and scored 27 touchdowns … Named
first team All-Division, All-Monmouth County and All-Jersey Shore and
was second team All-State … Divisional Offensive MVP … Captained the
football team as a senior … Earned a total of six letters in indoor and
outdoor track … Named All-Shore in the long jump and 400 meters …
Received an All-American Scholar Award.
