Hurt his knee during the season opener against Buffalo (Sept. 1) and
missed the remainder of the season … Had one six-yard catch prior to the
injury … Competed with the UConn indoor track and field team during the
winter and won the BIG EAST high jump championship, clearing 7-0.25.
Redshirted … Named the Offensive Scout Team Player of the Week prior to
the Murray State game (Sept. 4) … Competed with the UConn track and
field team during the spring and was an NCAA Regional qualifier in the
high jump, clearing a season-high of 6-11.
An All-District selection who was also named All-Big Bend by the
Tallahassee Democrat … Caught 48 passes for 700 yards and three
touchdowns as a senior when he was an All-Conference selection … The
biggest of his 48 catches in 2003 was on a 44-yard “Hail Mary” pass to
give Godby a last second win over regional No. 1-seed Milton in the
opening round of the state playoffs … Team captain as a senior … Placed
second in the state for 2A in both the high jump and the long jump, for
the Godby track and field team … Also helped Godby to a state-wide third
place finish in the spring of 2004 in the 4x400 meter relay.
