A true junior who aims to maintain his starting spot at free safety after making seven interceptions in 2007.

Career: Has played in 20 career games with 14 starts … Recorded 73 tackles, including one tackle for a loss, and seven interceptions.

2007: Played in all 13 games, starting each of the first 11 at safety and also the Meineke Car Care Bowl … Made 56 tackles on the year with seven interceptions and four more breakups … Made a season-high nine tackles in the Meineke Car Care Bowl against Wake Forest (Dec. 29), with an interception, a pass breakup and his first career tackle for loss … Made eight tackles against Syracuse (Nov. 17) while intercepting a pass and breaking up another … Added five tackles to the victory over Rutgers (Nov. 3) and six tackles to the win over USF (Oct. 27) … Had an interception in four straight games from Sept. 15-Oct. 13 and five of UConn’s first six games overall … Added five tackles on top of his interception against Temple (Sept. 15) while adding an additional pass break-up.

2006: Played in each of the final seven games of the season both on special teams and at safety … ≠Started two games, Rutgers (Oct. 29) and Pittsburgh (Nov. 11) while M.J. Estep was out with an injury … Made 17 tackles on the year, eight of which came against West Virginia (Oct. 20) after Estep was hurt … Combined to make seven tackles in his two starts, four against the Scarlet Knights and three against the Panthers … Prior to cracking the lineup, was named the Scout Team Player of the Week on defense prior to the USF game (Oct. 7).

High School: Gained 860 yards on the ground as a senior with 11 rushing touchdowns and an 11.3 yards per carry average … Also caught nine passes last year, good for 222 yards and three scores … Recorded 24 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, and one interception on defense … Returned two punts and one kickoff for touchdowns … Helped North Attleboro to a 9-1 record as a senior and a share of the conference championship … Named League MVP … Was the Defensive MVP of the Massachusetts Shriners’ Game, returning both an interception and a kickoff for a touchdown … A Boston Globe All-Scholastic pick in both football and track while earning All-Scholastic honors on the gridiron from the Boston Herald … Named to the Attleboro Sun Chronicle’s All-Star teams in both football and track … Won the state championship in both the 110 high hurdles and the long jump … Also lettered in basketball for three years.
