STORRS, Conn. (January 10, 2009) - Brittany Wilson (Nepean, Ont./Ottawa Inter. AA) made 31 saves in the University of Connecticut women’s ice hockey team’s 3-0 win over No. 9 Boston University. Monique Weber (Rogers, Minn./Elk Rivers High) scored twice in the Huskies’ Saturday afternoon victory at Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum.
Huskies Host Hockey East Opponent No. 9/9 Boston University
STORRS, Conn. (January 9, 2009) - The University of Connecticut women’s ice hockey team hosts its fifth nationally ranked opponent of the season in conference foe No. 9/9 Boston University on Saturday. The Hockey East clash is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Mark Edward Freitas Ice Forum. UConn (13-6-2, 6-4-0) looks to continue its current seven-game winning streak while the Terriers hope to snap a two-game conference losing streak.
Thibault Wraps Up Stint with Canada's National Women's U-22 Team
STORRS, Conn. (January 7, 2009) - Dominique Thibault (L’Orignal, Ont./Montreal Axion NWHL) of the University of Connecticut women’s ice hockey team was part of the silver medal Canada’s National Women’s Under-22 Team in the 2009 MLP Cup.
Binning Pulls in TPS Hockey East Player of the Week Award
STORRS, Conn. (January 5, 2009) - For the first time in her career, junior Michelle Binning (Oshawa, Ont./Toronto Jr. Aeros Inter. AA) has been acknowledged by the Hockey East as the conference’s TPS Player of the Week. Binning tallied four points in the University of Connecticut women’s ice hockey 2-0 weekend.
