McMillian Breaks Own School Record in the Shot Put

STORRS, Conn. (January 10, 2009) - Junior Tynisha McMillian (Bridgeport, Conn.) broke her own school record in the shot put, throwing for a mark of 16.16 meters, as the the University of Connecticut women's track and field team competed at the Yale Collegiate Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Women's Track and Field Enters the New Year With High Expectations

STORRS, Conn. (January 9, 2009) - The University of Connecticut women's track and field team holds high expectations entering the New Year as they are coming off an impressive indoor season just a year ago as the Huskies recorded a "trifecta" in championship meets by winning the BIG EAST, ECAC and New England Championships. The Huskies begin 2009 with their second meet of the season at the Yale Collegiate Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 10.

McMillian Selected as ECAC Field Athlete of the Week

STORRS, Conn. (December 11, 2008) - Junior Tynisha McMillian (Bridgeport, Conn.) was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Field Athlete of the Week after she broke her own school record in the shot put at Brown University's Alden Invitational on Saturday, December 6.

Graves-Fulgham Breaks 26-Year Old Women's Track Record in the 300m

STORRS, Conn. (December 6, 2008) - Senior Mandela Graves-Fulgham (Shutesbury, Mass.) took first in the 300m with a time of 39.51 to break Tammy Lanier's 26-year old record of 40.46 to lead the University of Connecticut women's track and field team to a successful 2008-09 opening meet at Brown University in the Alden Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
