Gampel Pavilion A-Z Fan Guide

ADA

  • Elevators - An ADA accessible elevator is available to all patrons in need, upon request. Please contact a security or event staff member for access. The elevator provides service to the lower-level and concourse-level of Gampel.
  • Entrances - All entrances (North, South, & East) are ADA accessible.
  • Parking - ADA Parking is available in both the North and South Garages.
  • Restrooms - All restrooms are ADA accessible. Men's Restrooms are located near the East and West Entrances. Women's Restrooms are located near the North and South Entrances.
  • Seating - ADA seating is issued on a first-come, first-served basis. If ADA seating is needed, please contact the UConn Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-AT-UCONN (1-877-288-2666). This information can also be accessed by visiting uconntickets.com.
  • Transportation - UConn offers a shuttle service, with ADA capabilities, from North Garage, F-Lot, and Storrs Center to Gampel Pavilion. Shuttles will operate two (2) hours prior to and one (1) hour following all Gampel games. Shuttles will run approximately every 20 minutes. For more information, please visit park.uconn.edu.
  • Video Phone - A video phone is located inside the South Entrance. Please notify an event staff member for assistance.

AED

An AED is located at the Fire Department Call Box in the North Entrance of Gampel Pavilion. In case of emergency, please notify the nearest event staff or security personnel.

Alcohol Policy

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in Gampel Pavilion. Any attempt to bring alcohol into the arena is a violation of facility regulations and may result in the guest being denied admittance, ejected, arrested, and/or tickets being revoked.

  • Intoxicated Guests - Gampel Pavilion reserves the right to deny entry to any guest that appears to be intoxicated. These individuals may be ejected from the venue and/or subject to legal action.

Animals

Animals are not permitted inside Gampel Pavilion with the exception of service animals and service animals in training. Guests with service animals may request accessible seating.

ATMs

There is an ATM machine located in the North Entrance of Gampel Pavilion, under Section 11. Prior to entry, there are ATMs across the street in the Student Union or at the UConn Bookstore. ATMs can be found on the Arena Map.

Baby Changing Stations

Baby changing stations are available in all restrooms located inside Gampel Pavilion. Men's Restrooms are located near the East and West Entrances. Women's Restrooms are located near the North and South Entrances.

Bag Policy

All bags must adhere to the 12" x 6" x 12" approved bags policy and will be searched upon entry to the venue. For more information, please visit UConnHuskies.com/bagpolicy.

Binoculars

Guests are welcome to bring their own binoculars to events at Gampel Pavilion subject to inspection at all entrances.

Cameras

Cameras with lenses that exceed 3 inches or that have a removable lens are not permitted. Hand-held still cameras are allowed for personal use only and may not be used for advertising, promotions or other trade purposes, or any other commercial or promotional endeavor, without the permission of UConn Athletics.

Charging Stations

Phone charging stations are located inside the North (under Section 14), East (under Section 1), and West (under Section 10) entrances.

Child Ticket Policy

All persons over the age of 2 years old must have a ticket for admission.

Concessions

Full service and satellite concession stands are located throughout the concourse. All full service concession stands accept VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover debit/credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Husky Bucks. All concessions stands open 90 minutes prior to tip-off and select stands will remain open until the end of the game. All major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Husky Bucks are accepted.

Conference Code of Sportsmanship

The American Athletic Conference encourages and promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial or ethnic comments, or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition.

  • From Bradley International Airport - UConn's campus is approximately 45 minutes driving time from the airport. Take I-91 South to I-291 East to I-84 East towards Exit 68. Off the exit take at right on Route 195 South and follow signs to the University (approx. 8 miles). Once on campus take a right on North Eagleville Road. At the second stoplight, take a left onto Hillside Road. At the fourth stop sign take a right onto Jim Calhoun Way. Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is on your right.
  • From Hartford - UConn's campus is approximately 30 minutes driving time from the city of Hartford. Take I-84 East to Exit 68. Off the exit take at right on Route 195 South and follow signs to the University (approx. 8 miles). Once on campus take a right on North Eagleville Road. At the second stoplight, take a left onto Hillside Road. At the fourth stop sign take a right onto Jim Calhoun Way. Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is on your right.
  • From Boston - UConn's campus is approximately 1.5 hours driving time from Boston. From the Mass Pike, take I-84 West to Exit 68. Off the exit take at right on Route 195 South and follow signs to the University (approx. 8 miles). Once on campus take a right on North Eagleville Road. At the second stoplight, take a left onto Hillside Road. At the fourth stop sign take a right onto Jim Calhoun Way. Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is on your right.
  • From Providence - UConn's campus is approximately one and one quarter hour from Providence. From Route 295 take Exit 5-6, following the sings to Hartford. Take Route 6 West to Route 101 West to Route 44 West. Take a left onto Route 195 South. Once on campus take a right on North Eagleville Road. At the second stoplight, take a left onto Hillside Road. At the fourth stop sign take a right onto Jim Calhoun Way. Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is on your right.
  • From New York - UConn's campus is approximately 1.5 hours to 2 hours from New York. Take 95 North to 91 North to 84 East. From 84 East take Exit 68. Off the exit take at right on Route 195 South and follow signs to the University (approx. 8 miles). Once on campus take a right on North Eagleville Road. At the second stoplight, take a left onto Hillside Road. At the fourth stop sign take a right onto Jim Calhoun Way. Harry A. Gampel Pavilion is on your right.

Doors Open

Arena doors open 90 minutes prior to tip-off.

Drones

Drones are strictly prohibited from the venue.

Elevator

Emergency

In the event of an emergency, please notify the nearest police officer or event staff personnel or call 911.

  • Emergency Evacuation - In the event that it is determined it is necessary to evacuate the venue, an announcement will be made by the public address announcer accompanied by a video board message, directing fans to proceed to the nearest exit.
  • Emergency Preparedness - Guests are encouraged to follow the emergency preparedness guidelines outlined below in the case of emergency.
    • During any emergency inside the arena, follow the directions of the public address announcer, event staff, and emergency responders.
    • Always designate a pre-determined location both inside and outside of Gampel Pavilion to meet friends and family in case you are separated or in the event of an emergency.
    • Upon arriving at your seat location, find the nearest exit and locate an alternate exit in case of emergency.
    • If you see or become aware of any activity that is unusual, suspicious, or causes you concern, report the activity to the nearest police officer or event staff.
    • Emergency vehicles may be present in and around the arena. Please do not obstruct the path of travel of an emergency vehicle or interfere in any way with their operations. Vehicles blocking emergency vehicles, exits, or traffic are subject to tow at the owner's expense. Please do not obstruct any exits or exit pathways.
    • Monitor the weather prior to the game. Take the necessary precautions to protect your family and friends should severe weather occur before, during, or after the game.

Entry

All patrons must adhere to the bag policy and prohibited items for entry into the arena. A complete bag policy and list of prohibited items list can be found at UConnHuskies.com/bagpolicy. All entrances are ADA accessible. Entry locations can be found on the Arena Map.

  • General Public Entrances - All doors open 90 minutes prior to game time. The general public entrance doors to Gampel Pavilion are located at the North, South, and East Entrances.

    Please see below for the recommended entrance based on section number.

    • North Entrance: Sections 11-14, 101-102, 118-124, 201-203, 218-223
    • East Entrance: Sections 1-3, 104-109, 203-209
    • South Entrance: Sections 4-10, 109-117, 209-217
  • Media Entrance - All entrances open 90 minutes prior to game time. The media will call entrance doors to Gampel Pavilion are located at the West Entrance.
  • Student Entrances - All entrances open 90 minutes prior to game time. Students are encouraged to enter Gampel Pavilion through the North and East Entrances.
  • UConn and Visiting Team Player-Guest Entrance - All entrances open 90 minutes prior to game time. The UConn and Visiting Team Player-Guest entrance doors are located at the West Entrance. All individuals picking up a ticket must present a valid photo ID.
  • Sales and General Will Call - All entrances open 90 minutes prior to game time. General public will call is located to the right of the North Entrance.

Event Staff

Event Staff can be identified by the bright yellow or light blue jackets labeled "Event Staff." Please notify the nearest event staff member if you have any questions or concerns throughout the game.

Fan Conduct

UConn and the NCAA promote good sportsmanship. UConn Athletics expects all guests to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner at all times before, during, and after the game. We anticipate all guests will treat other guests, student-athletes, coaches, and officials with courtesy and in a positive manner. Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest. Repeated offenses will result in the loss of season or student ticket privileges.

  • Guests of UConn Athletics are expected to:
    • Be prepared to show ticket stubs when entering any assigned seating location.
    • Sit in assigned seats to avoid inconveniencing other guests.
    • Keep aisles clear at all times.
    • Refrain from entering the playing surface, throwing objects, using/displaying foul or abusive language and gestures, or any other actions that may prove hazardous
  • Guests should contact an event staff member if they feel someone around them is acting inappropriately. If you need assistance at a game contact the nearest event staff member or text your issue and location to the Gampel Text Hotline at 860-543-1961 - message and data rates may apply.

First Aid/EMS

EMS is located in the North Entrance. For any emergencies, dial 911 or contact the nearest staff or security personnel.

Game Programs

Game programs are free and available at all doors. Roster cards are available for $1 and available at all concession stands while supplies last.

Ambassadors are available in the North, South and East entrances.

IMG College/UConn Sports Marketing

IMG College is UConn Athletics' multimedia rights vendor and provides businesses the opportunity to align themselves with one of the most recognizable and successful brands in college athletics. UConn Sports Marketing produces and delivers conventional over-the-air radio, with UConn Sports Network affiliate WTIC NewsTalk 1080 as the flagship station, as well as signage, gameday publications, consumer and retail promotions and video. Junior Husky Club

The UConn Junior Husky Club is the Official Kids Club of UConn Athletics. All kids thirteen (13) and under are eligible to register for the Junior Husky Club (due to NCAA rules). For more information or to become a member, please visit JuniorHusky.com or email juniorhusky@uconn.edu.

Lost & Found

During the event, please report any lost items or turn in any found items to an event staff member or law enforcement officer or report to the Gampel Text Hotline at 860-543-1961. After the event, please call the Athletic Operations office at 860-486-4712 or email fanfeedback@uconn.edu.

Lost Patrons/Children

Please contact the nearest event staff or law enforcement personnel immediately should a member of your party become separated or lost.

Lost Tickets

Lost tickets should be reported to the UConn Athletics Ticket Office. Contact the ticket office by email at athtickets@uconn.edu, by phone at 1-877-AT-UCONN (1-877-288-2666) (M-F, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) or on gameday at the Box Office located to the right of the North Entrance (Box Office opens 90 minutes prior to game time).

Media

Media must enter Gampel Pavilion through the West Entrance. Valid photo identification is required in order to pick up tickets or credentials left at the media will call table. Upon entry, bags will be searched and tagged upon approval. All entrances open 90 minutes prior to tip-off. Only credentialed personnel are permitted into the designated media areas.

Merchandise

The HuskyMania Fan Shop is the official UConn team merchandise store at Gampel Pavilion. The shop is located inside the East Entrance (under Section 3). All major credit cards are accepted.

Parking

UConn assumes no responsibility for loss through fire, theft, collision, or otherwise to the car or contents. Vehicles are parked at the owner's expense. Please make sure to lock your vehicle and keep all valuables stored on your person.

  • South Garage: Located directly across from Gampel Pavilion on Jim Calhoun Way - View in Google Maps
  • North Garage: Located on Hillside Road - View in Google Maps
  • ADA Parking: ADA Parking is available in both the North and South Garages. UConn offers a shuttle service with handicap accessible vans, from North Garage only, beginning two (2) hours prior to game time and running until two (2) hours post-game.
  • Shuttle Service: Shuttle busses will run from F-Lot and Storrs Center to Gampel Pavilion on gameday. For more information click here.

Police

UConn Police are present on gameday to ensure the safety of all student athletes, coaches, and spectators. The police station is located on the Storrs Campus at 126 North Eagleville Drive, Storrs, CT 06268. In the event of an emergency, dial 911 or notify the nearest event personnel.

Prohibited Actions/Items

All guests are subject to search at game management's discretion. All guests with prohibited items will be required to return any prohibited items to their vehicles. UConn reserves the right to deny anyone or anything from entering the arena.

  • The following actions are prohibited:
    • Smoking
    • Throwing or kicking objects in the seating areas
    • Unauthorized entry into the playing surface
    • Disorderly conduct (including the use of profanity or offensive language)
    • Standing or sitting in the aisles, ramps, or walkways
    • Ticket scalping (inside or outside the arena)
  • The following items are prohibited:
    • Alcoholic Beverages
      • Policy: Any attempt to bring alcohol into the venue is a violation of facility regulations and may result in the guest being denied admittance, ejected, arrested, and/or tickets revoked. Note that the "No Alcohol Perimeter" starts when you get in line.
      • Reason: UConn is committed to providing all fans with a safe, fun and enjoyable experience. Fans are encouraged report those in violation of this policy.
    • Animals (except Service Animals)
      • Policy: Animals are not permitted inside the venue with the exception of service animals and service animals in training for guests in need. Guests with service animals may request accessible seating.
      • Reason: UConn is committed to providing all fans with a safe, fun and enjoyable experience.
    • Artificial Noisemakers
      • Policy: Artificial noisemakers are not permitted inside the venue, per the American Conference Policy.
      • Reason: Artificial noisemakers are a disruption to players, officials, and other spectators. In order to provide all fans and student-athletes with the best possible experience, noisemakers are not allowed.
    • Audio and Video Recording Equipment
      • Policy: Audio and video recorders and recording equipment are strictly prohibited, except for the credentialed working media. Video images taken in the venue must be for personal use only and may not be used for advertising, promotions or other trade purposes, or any other commercial or promotional endeavor, without the permission of UConn.
      • Reason: UConn is obligated to protect the television and digital rights granted by the television networks and other media. By prohibiting video cameras, except for use by credentialed working media, UConn can best manage that obligation.
    • Bags Larger Than 12"X 6"X 12" and Backpacks
      • Policy: All bags are subject to search upon entry and are subject to additional searches within the arena. Backpacks or oversized bags are not permitted. Purses/tote bags that are smaller than 12" x 6" x 12" will be permitted. Diaper bags are permitted in the company of a small child. Bags carrying medical needs will also be permitted and are subject to search by venue personnel. Bags for equipment and computers for those working the event, such as media, photographers, etc. are permitted and are subject to search upon entry into the venue.
      • Reason: National and local security officials have designated backpacks and large bags as security risks. Unattended bags create a security threat. Bags may not be left at the doors and will be confiscated, removed, and discarded immediately.
      • Recommendation: For overall safety and security, UConn recommends fans to reduce the need to bring bags into the venue - leave all unnecessary items at home/vehicle. Please use bags smaller than 12" x 6" x 12" (per person) for carrying personal items into the venue.
    • Balloons
      • Policy: Balloons are not permitted inside the venue.
      • Reason: UConn is committed to providing all fans with a safe, fun and enjoyable experience. Balloons may cause obstructed views and disruption to the facility and other spectators.
    • Banners, Posters, Signs
      • Policy: Management reserves the right to remove any signs or banners at any time. All signs must be handheld, event related, in good taste, and cannot obstruct another guest's view. Signs may not contain commercial messages, logos, or political endorsements and may not obscure arena signage. Any signs determined to be obscene, vulgar, indecent, inappropriate, or derogatory will not be permitted, per the American Conference Policy. Signs or flags on sticks or poles are not permitted. Guests with unpermitted signs will be asked to return them to their vehicle or dispose of them upon entry.
      • Reason: Banners or poles in the venue can be a nuisance to other fans by obstructing their view of the game, and can create safety concerns for those in the area. Also, UConn must abide by its contractual agreements with corporate sponsors regarding signage in the venue.
    • Cameras
      • Policy: Cameras with lenses that exceed three (3) inches or that have a removable lens are not permitted. Hand-held still cameras are allowed for personal use only and may not be used for advertising, promotions or other trade purposes, or any other commercial or promotional endeavor, without the permission of UConn Athletics.
      • Reason: The sale of images with current student-athletes is against NCAA rules and can risk the eligibility of UConn student-athletes. Additionally, any commercial use of photos of the venue, campus landmarks or identifiable campus elements is prohibited without the prior written approval of the University.
    • Coolers, Cans, Glass Bottles, Flasks Or Any Outside Food And Beverage
      • Policy: Coolers, cans, glass bottles, flasks or any outside food and beverage are not permitted inside the venue, per the American Conference Policy.
      • Reason: UConn is obligated to abide by the contractual agreement with venue concessionaires. Full service and satellite concession stands are located throughout the concourse.
    • Drugs
      • Policy: In accordance with institutional, state and federal regulations, drugs are prohibited inside the venue.
    • Laptop
      • Policy: Laptops are strictly prohibited, except for credentialed media.
      • Reason: UConn is obligated to protect the rights of credentialed working media and all data associated with the contest.
    • Laser Pointers
      • Policy: Laser pointers are not permitted inside the venue, per the American Conference Policy.
      • Reason: Laser pointers are a disruption to players, officials, and other spectators. In order to provide all fans and student-athletes with the best possible experience, laser pointers are not allowed.
    • Promotional Items with Commercial Identification Not Approved by UConn
      • Policy: UConn must abide by its contractual agreements with corporate sponsors regarding promotional items and signage in the venue. Guests with unpermitted signs will be asked to return them to their vehicle or dispose of them upon entry.
    • Umbrellas
      • Policy: Umbrellas are not permitted in the venue.
      • Reason: Umbrellas are a safety hazard and can be an obstruction of view for other spectators.
      • Recommendation: UConn strongly advises the use of ponchos or other wearable rain gear for inclement weather.
    • Smoking
      • Policy: Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaporizers, is prohibited inside the venue. In accordance with University policy, smoking is not permitted anywhere inside or within 25 feet of Gampel Pavilion.
      • Reason: UConn is committed to providing all fans with a safe, fun and enjoyable experience.
    • Weapons Of Any Kind (Including Concealed Carry)
      • Policy: In accordance with institutional, state and federal regulations, weapons are prohibited inside the venue.

Radios

Hand-held and pocket sized portable radios are allowed in the arena. Please be considerate of guests and use an earpiece to listen to your radio.

Re-Entry Policy

Gampel Pavilion is a "no re-entry" facility. Once your ticket has been scanned, it will no longer be valid for entry.

Restrooms

Men's Restrooms are located near the East and West Entrances. Women's Restrooms are located near the North and South Entrances. All restrooms are ADA accessible and equipped with baby changing stations. Restroom locations can be found on the Arena Map.

Seating

Gampel Pavilion has an official seating capacity of 9,842. Please click here to view Gampel Pavilion's seating chart. ADA seating is issued on a first come, first served basis. If ADA seating is needed, please contact the UConn Athletics Ticket Office at 1-877-AT-UCONN (1-877-288-2666). This information can also be accessed by visiting uconntickets.com.

  • Seatbacks - Guests are welcome to bring their own seatbacks to events at Gampel.

Security

Event Staff and UConn law enforcement are present on game days to ensure the safety of all student athletes, coaches, and spectators. Event Staff can be identified by the bright yellow or light blue jackets labeled "Event Staff." Please notify the nearest event staff member if you have any questions or concerns throughout the game.

Shuttle Service

In order to provide a more convenient way for all of our fans to get to Gampel on gameday, UConn will now be offering a free shuttle service from both Downtown Storrs Center and F-Lot. Both shuttles will begin 90 minutes before each game and run continuously every 20 minutes until 90 minutes after each game. All shuttles are ADA accessible.

A shuttle will be available from North Garage to Gampel Pavilion, specifically for our ADA fans. Shuttles will operate 90 minutes prior to and following all Gampel Pavilion games. Click here for a shuttle map.

Signs/Banners/Posters

Management reserves the right to remove any signs or banners at any time. All signs must be handheld, event related, in good taste, and cannot obstruct another guest's view. Signs may not contain commercial messages, logos, or political endorsements and may not obscure arena signage. Any signs determined to be obscene, vulgar, indecent, inappropriate, or derogatory will not be permitted, per the American Conference Policy. Signs or flags on sticks or poles are not permitted. Guests with unpermitted signs will be asked to return them to their vehicle or dispose of them upon entry.

Smoking Policy

In accordance with University policy, smoking (including e-cigarettes and vaporizers) is not permitted anywhere inside or within 25 feet of Gampel Pavilion. Anyone in violation of this policy may be ejected from the facility.

Strollers

Stroller storage is limited; all patrons are encouraged to leave them safely stored inside their vehicles. Please contact the nearest security or event staff member for assistance. Strollers are not permitted in any seating areas or on the concourse. UConn Athletics assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged strollers or content and are stored at the owner's risk.

  • Student Tickets - UConn student tickets are valid ONLY for UConn students with a valid student ID card. ID must be presented with ticket upon entering the arena.

  • Ticket Office Hours - Tickets may be purchased at the main ticket office Monday thru Friday 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., located in the Field House on Hillside Road. On gameday, the Box Office opens 90 minutes from to game time.

Visiting Team Fans

Visiting team fans are guests of Gampel Pavilion and are held to the same fan behavior conduct standards outlined in the Fan Conduct section. All guests are expected to treat other guests, student-athletes, coaches, and officials with courtesy and in a positive manner. Violators are subject to ejection and possible arrest.

Visiting Team Will Call is located at the West Entrance of Gampel Pavilion, tickets may be picked up 90 minutes prior to game time. Ticket distribution is determined by the visiting team. By NCAA rule, all guests picking up UConn and Visiting Team Player-Guest Tickets must provide valid identification, sign for their ticket, and immediately enter the arena. Water Fountains

Water fountains are located at each entrance of the arena, right outside of the restrooms. Water fountain locations can be found on the Arena Map.

Will Call

Will call tickets can be picked up at the designated location (listed below). Will call tickets may be picked up 90 minutes prior to gametime until halftime.

  • General - A guest picking up will call tickets must bring the credit card used to purchase the tickets along with a valid form of identification. In addition, the name on the credit card must be the same as the person picking up the tickets.

  • Media - All media credentials should be requested by the media through UConn's Athletic Communications Department. All media personnel picking up tickets at will call must present valid identification.
    • Location - West Entrance of Gampel Pavilion
  • UConn and Visiting Team Player-Guest - All guests picking up tickets at will call must present a valid state issued photo driver's license or identification card. By NCAA rule, all guests picking up Player-Guest Tickets must provide valid identification, sign for their ticket, and immediately enter the arena.
