STORRS, Conn. - The UConn Club will be holding its' Annual Auction on Saturday, January 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Exhibition Hall of the XL Center in Hartford prior to the UConn men's basketball game against Tennessee. Admission is free and a game ticket is not necessary to attend.
Founded in 1953 and comprised of alumni and friends of the University of Connecticut, The UConn Club is the official booster organization of the University's Division of Athletics. The Club's primary objective is to raise funds for scholarships which are awarded to student-athletes attending the University of Connecticut.
The Annual Auction has been raising between $50,000-$80,000 annually over nearly 20 years for The UConn Club General Athletic Scholarship Fund.
The silent and live auction will feature items to bid on such as:
A brand new 2011 Toyota Camry
Tickets to sporting events (UConn Football, UConn Men's and Women's Basketball, Boston Red Sox, Connecticut Whale, New England Patriots)
Rounds of Golf (Lake of Isle private course, Glastonbury Hills, The Patterson Club, Indian Hills, etc.)
Electronics (home theater system, Kinect for Xbox - donated by PC Richards, Wii, tv's, etc.)
Theatre and dining gift certificates
Travel and leisure packages (Nantucket, Honduras, Stratton Mountain)
