Joel DeMarco is in his fifth year as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at UConn. His primary responsibility is with the women's ice hockey, men's and women's track & field, men's and women's cross country, golf and volleyball teams.
DeMarco spent the previous four years as the strength and conditioning coordinator at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., since 2008. He was the Bantams' first full-time strength and conditioning coach and directed all aspects of the program for 29 varsity sports.
Prior to his appointment at Trinity, he served as an assistant at Williams College for 18 months. He earned his bachelor's degree in applied exercise science from the University of New England (Biddeford, Maine) in 2005 and his master's degree in exercise science and sports studies from Springfield College in 2009.
DeMarco has held many strength and conditioning internship positions including the UMass football program, Western New England College, Williams College and worked with the Buffalo Bills for their 2007, 2009, and 2010 preseason training camps.
He is a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through United States Weightlifting (USAW) and a Certified Level 2 Professional through Functional Movement Systems (FMS).
He resides in Vernon, Conn.
