 Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Seat Donation?
A seat donation is a contribution to the University of Connecticut
Athletic Development Fund which enables patrons to select the section in
which they wish their seats to be located. A seat donation automatically
makes the patron a current donor for the 2003-04 fiscal year and a
member of The UConn Club.
Is the seat donation a charitable contribution?
Yes. Although the cost of the tickets is not tax deductible, 80% of
the seat donation is eligible for deduction from IRC income tax in
accordance with Internal Revenue Code section 170 (I). Patrons making a
seat donation will receive a receipt and acknowledgement letter from the
Athletic Development Office. The University of Connecticut Athletic
Development Fund benefits associated with the seat donation
(including priority point calculation) will go into effect for the
2003-04 University of Connecticut Athletic Development Fund year.
What are the benefits of purchasing a three-year term for seats at
Rentschler Field?
- Will be seated first within the structure of the priority point
system.
- Will receive UConn Club activation points.
- Will be protected against any price increase associated with the
ticket price or donation for the term of the agreement.
- Will be guaranteed the same seats for the length of the term, with
the option to improve when available.
- Will be guaranteed seating in the stadium at the point of term
renewal.
How many seats can I order?
For the 2003-04 season, there will not be a limit on the number of
football tickets a patron can order.
Will I be able to purchase tickets with a group of friends?
Season Ticket holders wishing to sit together in a group may ask to
do so by submitting their season ticket applications in the same
envelope with written requests to the Athletic Ticket Office either on
or attached to each form. Season ticket holders requesting to sit with
other season ticket holders will be seated according to the member of
the group with the lowest priority.
What is the ticket policy for people with disabilities?
Accessible seating is available for people who use wheelchairs or
have other server mobility impairments. Individuals with other needs
will be accommodated on a space availability basis. Seating in the
accessible areas will be based upon priority point totals for the
current season. We ask that patrons include a detailed description of
seating needs along with their season ticket order.
If I am bringing my young child to the game, does he/she need a
ticket?
Yes. Every person, regardless of age, needs a ticket for admission to
the game. Please keep this in mind when ordering season tickets.
Is special ticket pricing available for senior citizens / youths?
The Family Plan is an annual season ticket package. The ticket cost
for adults is $25 per game per seat and children $15 per game per seat.
Adult supervision is required for children under the age of eighteen
years. This section is designated as “No Alcohol” seating. There is no
special pricing for senior citizens.
Can payments for tickets and the seat donation or any University of
Connecticut Athletic Development Fund donation be combined into one
check?
No. Checks for tickets, made payable to the University of
Connecticut, must be separate from those for donations, made payable to
the University of Connecticut Athletic Development Fund. Failure to
follow this guideline may prevent timely processing of your application
and adversely affect your seat assignment.
At what date will single game tickets be available for sale?
There is no guarantee that single game tickets will be available.
Seating at Rentschler Field will be sold on a season ticket basis.
Single game tickets will only be sold if availability exists.
Is parking available for people with disabilities?
Designated spaces will be available for those with disabilities. All
entrances are accessible. There will be a drop off / pick up area for
those requiring assistance.
How much will parking cost? Will it be available on a season basis?
Parking information will be forthcoming. When parking areas have been
developed and the number of spots determined, the Division of Athletics
will forward information to those who have purchased season tickets. At
that time patrons will have the opportunity to order a parking pass.
Will alcohol be served inside the stadium?
Alcohol will be served in the stadium until approximately the third
quarter of the game.
