Before UConn: As a senior in 2005-06, he was named the New York
Post and New York Daily News Player of the Year... Was selected to
the Hall of Fame Game and was the Super 6 Showcase MVP… He averaged
21 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks a game for Rice High School
who won the city and state Catholic school championships… He was
selected to the All-City team… He played in the 2006 Jordan
All-American Classic at Madison Square Garden... As a junior in
2004-05, he averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per
game… He was selected to the All-City Team… He was an All-Star at
the 2004 ABCD Camp.
