Sam FORKO

AT CONNECTICUT: A versatile player who gives the Huskies greater depth. Has seen action in 68 career games tallying 16 career points (5g, 6a). AS A JUNIOR: Played in 23 games making two starts... Recorded an assist in UConn 4-1 win over Seton Hall. AS A SOPHOMORE: Saw action in all 24 games, starting 18 for UConn... Scored lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Rutgers. AS A FRESHMAN: Played in all 21 games, starting seven... Led the freshman class in scoring with four goals and three assists (11 pts.) and finished fifth overall... Scored a goal and two assists in his first collegiate start versus Princeton... Had one gamewinning goal on the year in a 2-0 win over Notre Dame... Also had goals versus Long Island and Georgetown and his third assist versus Boston College. IN HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Langham Creek High School where he played under head coach Dale Cowser... Three-time All-District choice and two-time All-Region player... First team All-State and All-Greater Houston as a senior... Holds school record for points surpassing current Husky Edwin Rivera... Member of the Houston Hurricanes club team under head coaches Glenn Davis and Tony Johnson. PERSONAL: Enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences... Pursuing an individualized major... Born September 2, 1978.
