*UConn’s nine seniors contributed to the team’s appearance in the Final Eight. One highlight came on senior day when three seniors, Casey Zimny, Alexa Borisjuk, and Jen Amaio, provided the scoring in a 3-1 victory over Notre Dame. Shanna Caldwell, who earned the NCAA Goals-Against Average Title for 2001 played nearly flawlessly to help UConn earn the win.

*2001 WUSA CHAMPIONSHIPS: At the Founders Cup, the first championship game for WUSA, Carey Dorn and San Jose                 Alexa Borisjuk
CyberRays won in penalty kicks.
Dorn scored the second goal to help lead San Jose edge the Atlanta Beat at Foxboro Stadium.

*Zimny  and Borisjuk both earned All-America honors in their senior year.
