Softball Defeats Syracuse 6-5 in Extra Innings in BIG EAST Quarterfinals

Micah Truax Win BIG EAST Player of the Year for Second Straight Season

STORRS, Conn. (May 7, 2008) - University of Connecticut softball junior Micah Truax (South Glen Falls, N.Y.) was named BIG EAST Player of the Year for the second straight season at the postseason banquet held Wednesday night in Louisville. She is only the fourth player in BIG EAST history to win consecutive player awards.

Softball Begins Quest for BIG EAST Title Against Syracuse

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 7, 2008) - The University of Connecticut softball team has arrived in Louisville as it prepares to open the BIG EAST tournament Thursday. The Huskies are the three seed and will face the six seed Syracuse in their quarterfinal game at 10:00 a.m. The game will be webcast live on the BIG EAST website, and can be heard on WHUS 91.7.

Micah Truax Wins BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week for Second Time this Season

STORRS, Conn. (May 5, 2008) - The BIG EAST Conference announced Monday that University of Connecticut softball junior Micah Truax (South Glen Falls, N.Y.) has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week. This is the second time she has been honored this season, as she was also named Player of the Week on April 14.

Sunday's Softball Games Against USF Cancelled

STORRS, Conn. (May 4, 2008) - The University of Connecticut's softball doubleheader against USF on Sunday has been cancelled due to poor field conditions. The games will not be made up due to the beginning of final exams at UConn on Monday.
