STORRS, Conn. - In honor of National Student-Athlete Day the Counseling Program for Intercollegiate Athletes is pleased to recognize Hillary Lackman of the women's soccer program for her distinguished career both in the classroom and on the pitch. Hillary, a senior from Storrs will graduate this May with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sociology.
In her first seven semesters of record Hillary made the Dean's List six times. She has earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in four of her last five semesters including a current streak of two in a row. She has been recognized as a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team every year since she stepped foot on campus and is a constant on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll each semester.
Athletically Hillary has been a quiet leader throughout her career, incredibly determined and hardworking her freshmen teammates describe her as a great role model and the person you confide in when things aren't going well. Hillary organizes the independent learning groups for the soccer program and can often be found guiding her younger teammates through difficult subjects. She was a key member on the team that saw Coach Len Tsantiris win his 500th career game and her leadership will be missed.
Hillary also has a knack for the big stage as she recorded her first career assist in her final game as a Husky. In May she will step onto a bigger stage, this time to accept her diploma, hopefully leaving UConn with one final perfect 4.0 semester.
