STORRS, Conn. -
Michael Oblinger, who most recently served as the Director of Major Gifts and the Annual Fund for the Tiger Foundation at LSU, has been named the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development at UConn.
Oblinger will become a member of Director of Athletics David Benedict's Leadership Team and its chief development officer, working in concert with the University of Connecticut Foundation

Michael's experience and leadership will help us advance the annual fund and our focus on capital gifts and scholarship endowments."

Oblinger had been at LSU since 2010 and served as both an Assistant Director of Development and Associate Director of Development before being named to his current position in 2015. He oversaw the daily function of the Tiger Athletic Fund's major giving efforts, annual fund and prospect management.
He was the Director of Annual Giving at Nevada from 2009-10, an Assistant Director of the Tiger Scholarship Fund at Memphis from 2007-09 and was an Athletics Development Associate at Ohio State from 2006-07.
Oblinger is a 2005 graduate of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill., with a degree in history and political science. He earned a master's degree from Western Illinois in 2007.
