The revised and simplified UConn Athletics Priority Point system will be utilized to acknowledge both donor loyalty and generosity. Each donor's priority point total will determine his/her priority ranking and play a determining factor in how various benefits are allocated.
A minimum annual gift of $100 to any area of the Husky Athletic Fund is required to activate priority points. You can actively increase your points throughout the giving year. Points for gifts to the Husky Athletic Fund will be awarded based on pledge and/or cash received.
PRIORITY POINTS ARE AWARDED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
- Unrestricted giving to the Division of Athletics
- Restricted giving to the Division of Athletics
- Seat Donations
- Consecutive years of giving to the Division of Athletics
- Season Ticket Purchases (football, men's and women's basketball, men's ice hockey and men's and women's soccer)
- Being a UConn graduate (main or regional, undergraduate or graduate) *
- Being a former UConn student-athlete *
*Priority points will be credited for the start of the 2018-19 giving year.
PRIORITY POINTS WILL BE USED WHEN DISTRIBUTING AND ALLOCATING:
- Season tickets
- Conference and NCAA tournament tickets
- Bowl game tickets
- Special events and other benefits
|Unrestricted Giving to Athletics(Husky Annual Scholarship and Husky Excellence Funds)||5 points per $100|
|Restricted Giving to Athletics(Sport-specific, capital projects, endowments, etc.)||2 points per $100|
|Seat Donations(Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field and Courtside Basketball Seating)||5 point per $100|
|Consecutive Years of Giving *||10 points/ year|
|Season Ticket Purchases(Football, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball and Men's Ice Hockey)||2 points per ticket purchased|
|Season Ticket Purchases(Men's and Women's Soccer)||1 point per ticket purchased|
|UConn Graduate**(main or regional; undergraduate or graduate)||50 points (one-time)|
|UConn Former Student-Athlete **||100 points (one-time)|
Priority points earned prior to the 2017-18 giving year will be maintained. We will not recalculate points based on the new criteria. In other words, previous season ticket purchases and years of consecutive giving will not earn points retroactively but will earn points moving forward. Points earned in the new system will be added a donor's current, accumulated point total.
UNRESTRICTED GIVING TO ATHLETICS
Five (5) points will be awarded for every $100 committed to the Husky Annual Scholarship Fund or Husky Excellence Fund.
RESTRICTED GIVING TO ATHLETICS
Two (2) points will be awarded for every $100 committed to restricted funds including capital projects, endowments, sport specific funds and other miscellaneous funds.
Five (5) points will be awarded for every $100 committed to required seat donations for Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentchler Field Football seat donations and courtside seating at Gampel Pavilion and the XL Center for men's and women's basketball
CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF GIVING TO ATHLETICS*
Ten (10) points will be awarded for each year of consecutive giving to the Husky Athletic Fund. The first points earned for consecutive years giving would be in a donor's second year contributing. Donors will not have technically given in consecutive years until they have occurred in back-to back years. Therefore no one will earn consecutive years of giving points during the 2017-18 giving year.
A minimum gift of $100 each year is necessary to qualify. Earned points may decrease if a donor does not donate to the Husky Athletic Fund (a minimum of $100) in consecutive years. In this scenario, the donor will lose consecutive years of giving priority points previously accumulated.
SEASON TICKET PURCHASES
Two (2) points will be awarded for every season ticket purchased for football, men's basketball (XL Center and/or Gampel Pavilion), women's basketball (XL Center and/or Gampel Pavilion), and/or men's ice hockey.
One (1) point will be awarded for everyone season ticket purchased for men's or women's soccer season tickets.
Points are earned only if you have purchased tickets in your name through the UConn Athletics.
Fifty (50) points will be awarded to UConn graduates with a maximum of fifty (50) points per individual and a maximum of one hundred (100) points per account. Points will be implemented in the 2018-19 giving year.
**UCONN FORMER STUDENT-ATHLETE
One hundred (100) points will be awarded to those who were a member of an intercollegiate sport at UConn with a maximum of two hundred (200) points per account. Points will be implemented in the 2018-19 giving year.
If a commitment is not fulfilled, the donor will lose points associated with the commitment.
Priority points for matching gifts will be awarded once the matching gift is received.
Priority points will not be awarded for special events donations such as registration fees, auction items, event ticket purchases, sponsorships, etc.
Points and/or season tickets may not be transferred from one person to another or from one account to another. Also, the University does not transfer priority points or tickets by the virtue of wills. In the event of the death of an account holder or season ticket holder, the surviving spouse (the definition of spouse is consistent with applicable federal law) retains the priority points, providing the surviving spouse is on the account at the time of death. No other immediate family members, friends or other entities will qualify for a transfer of priority points or tickets.
Priority Point System policies and procedures are subject to change.
