2009 SEASON: In 34 games played, had 17 hits in 64 at-bats... scored 12 times and knocked in 10 RBI... hit four doubles and one home run... on the hill, posted a 5-4 record and a 4.76 ERA... made 13 appearances and 12 starts... gave up 84 hits and 39 earned runs in 73.2 innings... the 73.2 innings thrown were the most among UConn pitchers... made 12 starts on the hill, the most on the team... struck out a team-best 58 batters... earned the win in UConn's 6-1 BIG EAST Tournament victory over West Virginia in Clearwater, Fla. (May 19)... his 7.1 innings of work was his best outing vs. West Virginia (May 19)... recorded a season-best 10 strikeouts against South Florida (March 28).
2008 SEASON: Earned a spot on the University Division roster for the 2008 NEIBA New England College Baseball All-Star Game... was third on the team with a batting average of .324... started in 43 games while recording 56 hits... had 12 doubles, one triple and three homeruns... finished the year with 41 RBIs, 30 runs scored and two stolen bases... also saw action in 10 games on the mound... started on the hill nine times... posted an overall record of 1-3 and an ERA of 6.00... pitched 42.0 innings while giving up 48 hits and 28 earned runs while striking out 26 batters... had a season-best 4-for-5 performance from the plate with three RBIs against Cincinnati (Apr. 5)... against Quinnipiac (May 12) had two hits, four RBIs and two runs scored... on the mound he had a career-high six strikeouts in UConn's 1-0 loss to UNC-Greensboro as he pitched six innings.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letter winner at Long Beach Wilson... in 2005, led his team to a league championship... was named Second Team All-Moore League... earned First Team All-Moore League honors as well as Phil Nevin National High School Classic All-Tournament First Team honors...as a senior, he led his team to a school and league record of 32 wins and was named Lora Tournament Most Outstanding Player along with Josh Vitters (third overall pick in 2007 MLB draft)... named to the First Team All-Moore League as a senior... was named Long Beach Press Telegram Dream-Team Player of the Year...was named First Team All-State and the CIF Division I Player of the Year... led Long Beach to a No. 1 ranking in the United States during his senior year.
