2013 Season: Selected as a member of the 2013 BIG EAST All-Tournament Team.... Made a BIG EAST-leading 34 appearances for the Huskies... Allowed just nine earned runs in 34.1 innings of relief... Recorded 28 strikeouts and issued just 23 walks... Held batters to a .213 batting average, which was third on the Husky squad... Pitched a season-high 3.0 innings of work against Indiana (2/16), surrendering just one hit and one walk, while striking out three... Held opponents scoreless in 29 of 34 appearances... Allowed just six extra base hits all year... Pitched 5.1 innings throughout the BIG EAST Championship, allowing just one base runner and punching out four opponents... Pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief in the NCAA Blacksburg Regional.
2012 SEASON: Appeared in 10 games...recorded 11 strikeouts in 19 innings pitched...posted a record of 1-0 and an ERA of 1.89...struck out two in one inning at Massachusetts (4/2)...pitched 3.1 scoreless innings and recorded the win at Fairfield (4/17)...named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team. 2012 SUMMER: Pitched in relief 13 times for the Keene Swamp Bats (NECBL)...held a 3.91 ERA in 20.2 innings pitched...struck out 26 batters.
2011 SEASON: Red-shirted. 2011 SUMMER: Pitched in 15 games and made one start for the NECBL Champion Keene Swamp Bats...produced a 2-1 record with a 4.84 ERA in 22.1 innings pitched...totaled 19 strikeouts.
High School: Attended Bacon Academy in Colchester, Conn....earned All-State honors...was a two-time All-Area selection by the Norwich Bulletin as well as the New London Day... was a two-time All-ECC selection... also lettered in basketball and earned All-State Academic honors... was a member of the National Honor Society and earned high honors.
Personal: An exploratory major... born September 15, 1991... his father John played at Davidson and Holy Cross... his uncle John Shea was a two-sport star at UConn in baseball and basketball before reaching AAA as a pitcher in 1990.
