    BIG EAST Baseball Second Round: UConn vs. Louisville

    UConn Baseball defeats top-seed Louisville, 4-1, in the Second Round of the BIG EAST Championship (5/25/12).

    2012 SEASON: Returned from a torn ACL to play in 47 games and start 44, primarily at catcher...named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team...selected to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District Team...batted .250 with 19 RBI and 18 runs scored...hit three home runs and seven doubles...went 3-for-5 with two RBI at College of Charleston (2/25)...drove in two runs and scored a pair, while going 2-for-4 with a double in a win over Oklahoma (3/9)...homered and tripled in a 2-for-5 showing with five RBI in a win at West Virginia (3/24)...hit a two-run homer agaisnt Seton Hall (4/1)...went 3-for-3 with two runs and a double at Boston College (4/3)...hit his third home run of the season and added a double in a 2-for-5 performance in a win at Northeastern (5/8)...went 2-for-5 with a run scored in a win over USF (5/23) at the BIG EAST Championship...left UConn with a .272 career batting average, 79 runs, 69 RBI and 10 home runs...named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.

    2011 SEASON: Redshirted.

    2010 SEASON: Appeared in 39 games with 139 at-bats... batted .273 with 38 hits and 14 walks... recorded an on-base percentage of .342 and a slugging percentage of .460... scored 24 runs and had 20 runs batted in... went 4-for-5 with four runs batted in and a home run vs. Cincinnati (5/8). 2010 SUMMER: Played for the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL)... played for the East Division in the CCBL All-Star Game at Fenway Park in Boston, Mass... hit .290 with 29 hits and eight RBI in 30 games played.

    2009 SEASON: Made 35 starts in 37 games played... batted .328 with 41 hits, including nine doubles... hit two triples and one home run... recorded 25 runs scored and 24 RBI... had a .456 slugging percentage and one steal... registered 261 putouts and 40 assists behind the plate for the Huskies... recorded four 3-hit games... had four RBI against Bowling Green (March 10) and two doubles at Sacred Heart (March 17)... went 3-for-4 vs. Bowling Green (March 10) with three runs and four RBI. 2009 SUMMER: Played for the North Adams Steeple Cats in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)... batted .217 with 18 hits, scored 15 times and batted in nine in 27 games.

    2008 SEASON: Saw action in 26 games, while starting 22... hit .222 in 81 at-bats... recorded 18 hits while scoring 12 runs... hit one homerun and two doubles for six RBIs... was 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts... picked up a season-best two hits five times... had a 2-for-5 performance with three runs scored at Hartford (Apr. 1). 2008 SUMMER: Played for the Brockport Riverbats out of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL)... batted .247 in 24 games... recorded 21 hits and eight RBI as well as 194 put-outs behind the plate.

    HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year letter winner at Greece Athena High School... earned All-County honors for three straight years (2005-07)... earned Co-Player of the Year honors in 2007... earned Second Team All-State... led his team to the Division Championship and Sectional Championship titles in 2007... as his team's Co-Most Valuable Player, he led his club to the Western Region Championship title in 2007... earned Rawlings First Team All-Region honors... was selected as a New York Scholar Athlete... was on the High Honor Roll with distinction at Greece Athena... was a member of the National Honor Society.
