UConn Baseball was eliminated from the 2012 BIG EAST Baseball Championship following its 2-1 loss to USF (5/26/12).


BIG EAST Baseball Second Round: UConn vs. Louisville

UConn Baseball defeats top-seed Louisville, 4-1, in the Second Round of the BIG EAST Championship (5/25/12).

2012 SEASON: Drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 15th round with the 468th overall pick...signed with Colorado and was assigned to the Grand Junction Rockies (R)...honored as an All-BIG EAST First Team selection...named to the ABCA Regional Second Team...chosen as a NEIBA All-Star...returned from Tommy John surgery to pitch 36.1 innings and record a 5-0 record over 22 apearances...totaled nine saves, tied for fifth most in a single season,and a 0.99 earned run average, the ninth lowest single season ERA in program history and the first sub-1.00 ERA since 1976...opponents batted just .154 off of him...earned his first save of the season in a 1.1-inning relief outing against Lipscomb (3/2)...nailed down a 6-3 win at Oregon State (3/10) for his third save at the NIKE Classic...pitched three innings and struck out four for his first win of the year against Seton Hall (3/30)...went 2.2-scoreless innings to pick up the win at Pittsburgh (4/7)...pitched 4.2 innings and got the win in a come-from-behind effort at St. John's (4/15) the win and struck out three over two innings agaisnt Rutgers (4/20)...won his third straight appearance in two innings of work at Louisville (4/29)...struck out a career-high 11 in a career-long 5.2-inning relief appearance without yielding a run against Cincinnati (5/6)...struck out three and got the save in 1.1 innings of work over USF (5/23) at the BIG EAST Championship...saved his ninth game of the season by striking out the only batter he faced against Louisville (5/25) at the BIG EAST Championship...set a league record with a 0.33 ERA in BIG EAST 1.59 ERA ranks ninth all-time at UConn...currently tied for fourth all-time in appearances with 71 and sits fifth all-time with 11 saves...posted a 14-2 record for his career with 77 strikeouts and 113 innings pitched.

2011 SEASON: Redshirted.

2010 SEASON: Appeared in 30 games... posted an ERA of 1.94, allowing only 10 runs in 46.1 innings of work... 5-2 on the hill for the Huskies... also recorded one save... gave up 40 hits and eight walks... struck out 30... pitched a season- high 3.2 innings, giving up only two hits and recording the save vs. Seton Hall (6/21). 2010 SUMMER: Played for the Lowell All-Americans in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL)... posted a 0.64 ERA in 10 games... threw 14 innings, allowing one earned run and three walks, while striking out five.

2009 SEASON: Led the Huskies with a 1.78 ERA... was undefeated with a 4-0 record in 19 appearances... registered one save... in 30.1 innings of work, allowed 28 hits and six earned runs... walked three batters and struck out 11... earned wins over Massachusetts (April 8), Hartford (April 14), Notre Dame (May 2) and South Florida (May 23)... earned the 10-8 win over South Florida (May 23) during postseason play allowing one hit, while striking out one in 2.2 innings... struck out two at Seton Hall (April 3) in one inning of work in UConn's 7-2 win over the Pirates. 2009 SUMMER: Played for the Bourne Braves in the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL)... was a part of the Braves' League Championship... appeared in three games, posting a 1.80 ERA, while striking out one in five innings of work.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year varsity letter winner at Tewksbury Memorial... was a two-time Merrimack Valley Conference Player of the Year... a two-time Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic team member... two-time Lowell Sun Player of the Year... led team to two conference championship titles... varsity record of 14-3 with an 1.11 ERA... also lettered in basketball... was a honor roll student.
