BIG EAST Baseball Semifinal: UConn vs. USF (Game 1)

UConn Baseball falls to USF, 1-0, in the first of two semifinal match-ups (5/26/12).


BIG EAST Baseball Second Round: UConn vs. Louisville

UConn Baseball defeats top-seed Louisville, 4-1, in the Second Round of the BIG EAST Championship (5/25/12).

2012 SEASON: Appeared in nine games in his final season at Connecticut...drove in two runs on a 1-for-3 day against Ohio State (2/19) with a double...hit his second career home run against Xavier (2/24)...went 1-for-3 against Notre Dame (5/19)...named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team...chosen for the team's CPIA award.

2011 SEASON: Played in 12 games and made one start...had four hits and two runs batted in throughout 16 at-bats...had a 1.000 fielding percentage...recorded a stolen base, run batted in and a home run in four at-bats at Hartford (3/29). 2011 SUMMER: Batted .143 and hit one home run, while driving in nine runs in 23 games for Sanford (NECBL).

2010 SEASON: Appeared in 11 games with nine at-bats... batted .222 with two hits and three runs... recorded hits at Holy Cross (4/22) and against Central Connecticut (6/5). 2010 SUMMER: Played for the Butler Blue Sox in the Prospect League... earned a spot on the East All-Star team in the Prospect League All-Star Game... batted .249 with 30 RBI, seven doubles and 45 hits in 49 games played.

2009 SEASON: Was 1-for-4 in three games played... recorded six putouts... recorded one hit at Bryant (April 28). 2009 SUMMER: Played for the Ocean Giants in the American Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL)... hit .372 with 32 hits, including 10 doubles, while adding 22 runs scored and 14 RBI.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year varsity letter winner at Stratford High... a Class M All-State selection as a senior... three-time All-Conference selection... helped the Under-18 Connecticut Bombers to the 2008 Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, New Mexico... played in the Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) junior All-Star game and was a member of the CHSCA All-Star team as a senior... three-time American Legion All-Star team member... 2008 CHSCA Scholar Athlete... New Channel 12 Scholar Athlete of the Week... graduated in the top 10% of his class... National Honor Society member, both his junior and senior years... held a perfect attendance record for all four years of high school.

PERSONAL: An economics major with a business administration minor... born October 7, 1989... his mother, Eileen, and all three of his brothers; Paul, Matthew and Thomas attended UConn... his father, Paul, played in the 1969 College World Series for UMass... high school teammate of current Husky Tim Martin.
