DAVIS, Calif. - The UConn baseball team battled back in the ninth but eventually fell to UC Davis 8-7 on Sunday afternoon at Dobbins Stadium.
Trailing 7-6 in the ninth, Keith Krueger slapped an RBI groundout to the shortstop to score Aaron Hill from third. The Aggies though were able to grab a sacrifice fly in the ninth to salvage the final game of the series.
Isaac Feldstein opened the scoring in the second with his second home run of the season, a solo shot out to left field. Feldstein finished the ballgame 3-4 with 2 RBI and notched his eighth double of the year in the sixth.
After a three-run second inning for the Aggies, the Huskies responded with three runs of their own in the third. Zac Susi gave UConn the lead with a two-run double down the left field line, making it 4-3 Huskies.
Krueger ended the day 2-4 at the dish, logging his second multi-hit game of the season.
Despite the loss, UConn (8-5) wrapped up the weekend grabbing its first road series win of the season.
The Huskies continue their Spring Break trip on Tuesday night at Santa Clara, first pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. PST.

- The Huskies pitching staff struck out a season-low three batters. The previous low was six against Saint Joseph's. UConn has had seven double-digit strikeout games this season.
