MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The University of Connecticut baseball team (15-7, 3-2) took the second of a three-game series at West Virginia on Friday. The Huskies opened the game with a three-run first inning en route to the 9-2 win. Junior Mike Nemeth (Washington, N.J.) was 2-for-5 with an RBI while it was sophomore Nick Ahmed (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led all with two RBI against the Mountaineers at Hawley Field.
Redshirt junior Greg Nappo (Madison, Conn.) allowed just four hits in just over seven innings pitched while striking out two batters for his third victory of the season.
Ahmed and sophomore George Springer (New Britain, Conn.) both doubled against the Mountaineers while redshirt freshman Billy Ferriter (Nashua, N.H.) tripled in the eighth inning, driving in redshirt junior Doug Elliot (Rocky Hill, Conn.).
