STORRS, Conn. – University of Connecticut baseball Head Coach Jim Penders announced on Tuesday afternoon that the Huskies will play host to USF in its opening weekend game on April 19 at New Britain Stadium. First pitch for the game is set for 6:30 pm.
New Britain Stadium is the home to the New Britain Rock Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. The stadium opened in 1996 and seats 6,146.
Last season, the Huskies hosted Notre Dame on May 18; a 4-0 loss to the Fighting Irish.
UConn will also play at Dodd Stadium in Norwich this season on May 14. The Huskies will be the visiting team as Rhode Island is slated as the home team. The game will be played at 11:30 am.
