STORRS, Conn. – Due to impending weather, the University of Connecticut baseball team will play a doubleheader against Rutgers on Saturday at J.O. Christian Field. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. with the second game following immediately after.
The Huskies and Scarlet Knights have met on the diamond 63 times in series history, with Rutgers holding a slim 34-29 edge. The two squads split four games in 2013, including a 2-1 UConn victory in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Tournament.
Last season, UConn recorded a 7-9 record on its home field. This weekend’s series with Rutgers represents Connecticut’s first home games since May 12, 2013.
