Letter from Bob and Jan Galati

One of our former Huskies is battling for his life right now.  Mike Galati (1994-’98) is in dire need of a live liver donor.  “Googs” battled on the mound in his five-year career for us, and he needs our help right now.  I am attaching the letter I received from his parents yesterday, and I ask you to please read it, and do whatever you can to spread the word.  I phoned the Yale Transplantation Center (866/925-3897) this morning to schedule an initial screening.  It was a 3-minute phone call, and I’m awaiting a return call to set up a more detailed evaluation.  Please consider doing the same.

I sat with Mike recently at our former teammate, Reuben Wilson’s induction into the Middletown Sports Hall of Fame.  He laughed about the recently-posted career stats on our website revealing the fact that he was the losing pitcher in more games than any other Husky in our program’s history.  The guy they named the MLB pitching award after also has the most losses in MLB history – Cy Young.  This is a game Mike cannot lose, but he also can’t win it without help.

Mike was a very good pitcher, a great teammate, and a super competitor.  He is an even better person, and he deserves our assistance.

He’d never ask for help, but I must.  Please step up however you can.  Thanks in advance.
