STORRS, Conn. - The Counseling Program for Intercollegiate Athletes would like to recognize Will Jolin, a fifth-year senior from Guilford, Conn. and the UConn baseball team for the 10th National Student Athlete Day award.
Will transferred to UConn after his freshman year. He immediately had an impact on his teammates and has been a consistent leader by example. Will has battled injuries during his career that would have sidelined many athletes.
Each time, Will battled to get back on the mound for the Huskies. In addition to his time pitching for Connecticut, Will has spent his summers playing for the Bourne Braves, a part of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL).
Will's teammates describe him as a "wise and determined" ball-player. He has consistently demonstrated his commitment and resilience over the years in the classroom and in the training facilities.
Will graduated with his Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering in May 2012 and is using this fifth year to pursue a graduate degree in the field. He is a two-time member of the BIG EAST All Academic Team and a four-time Director of Athletics Honor Roll recipient.
Looking ahead, Will plans to pursue his doctorate in Environmental Engineering with the hopes to begin his career in the private sector and transition into becoming a professor one day.
