STORRS, Conn. - The Huskies (22-17, 7-5 American) return to J.O. Christian Field this weekend for a three-game conference series with Cincinnati (20-20, 5-7 American).

The Huskies sit in the thick of the postseason race with an RPI at 44 (on Thursday morning) and sit a game back of first place in The American behind Tulane and Houston. After winning its first six conference games, UConn has dropped five of its last six American contests. The Huskies finally have a large portion of their schedule at home with 13 of the next 16 games at home.

Freshman Anthony Prato leads the team with a .311 average and 34 runs scored this season. Prato has missed the Huskies last three games due to injury. Willy Yahn leads the team with 14 multi-hit games and is 15 hits away from 200 in his career. He would become the 19th Husky to accomplish the feat.

The starting rotation of Tim Cate, Wills Montgomerie and Mason Feole look to get back to form this weekend on the hill. Montgomerie leads The American with 81 punch-outs on the year. The junior right-hander sits nine strikeouts away from 200 for his career and would become just the 10th UConn pitcher to reach 200 strikeouts.

Cincinnati enters the weekend at 20-20 overall and 5-7 in American Athletic Conference play. A.J. Bumpass leads the team in average (.309), doubles (12), triples (4) RBIs (24) and on-base percentage (.406). J.T. Perez is the only starting pitcher announced for the weekend, he has made a team-leading 10 starts for the Bearcats, recording a 2-5 record and 3.90 ERA in 57.2 innings.

UConn 18-11 all-time against the Bearcats in a series that dates back to 2006. The Huskies lost two-of-three from Cincinnati last year on the road. The last time the Bearcats traveled to Storrs, in 2015, the Huskies swept the three-game series.
