Last Time vs. UofL... Lefty Anthony Marzi tossed 8.2 innings and allowed just one unearned run to lead UConn past top-seeded Louisville in the BIG EAST Championship Second Round, 4-1. Marzi surrendered four hits, walked two and struck out five to best BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year Justin Amlung, who gave up all four runs on 10 hits in seven innings. Righty Scott Oberg came out of the pen to record to final out of the game and his ninth save of the year.

Up Next... The Huskies play a mid-week game against Rhode Island at Dodd Stadium at 11:30 am on May 14, as the away team. The regular season comes to a close with a three-game, non-conference series at George Mason, May 16-18.

Starting Cross... Cross’ first 16 appearances in 2012 were out of the bullpen, but each of his last 14 have been starts. When starting games, he is 8-3 with a 1.97 ERA and 85 K’s in 100.1 innings. The Huskies are 10-4 in his starts. Nationally, Cross owns the 11th lowest career ERA among active players with at least 75 innings pitched at 1.88.

Senior Swing... Since April 6, Ferriter is hitting .402 (33-for-82). Over that stretch, he has 12 multi-hit games in 19 played as well as three three-hit games.
