STORRS, Conn. - Heading into its final home weekend series, the UConn baseball team is set to host American Athletic Conference foe UCF at J.O. Christian Field on Mya 13-15. The Huskies and Knights begin a three-game set at 11 a.m. on Friday before a 1 p.m. Saturday tilt and a 12 p.m. Sunday finale. All three games will be broadcasted on WHUS.org, 91.7 FM.
UConn (26-22, 8-9 The American) picked up a pair of victories in midweek play, topping UMass, 5-0, on Tuesday at home before scoring six unanswered runs in a 9-8 victory at Northeastern on Wednesday. Senior OF Joe DeRoche-Duffin (Santa Ana, Calif.) collected his second multi-homer game of the season on Wednesday at Friedman Diamond, extending his conference-leading round-tripper total to 14.
Connecticut owns a 5-4 all-time record against Central Florida in a series dating back to 2013. The Huskies took three of four meetings in 2015, including an 11-inning 4-3 victory in Clearwater, Fla. in the American Athletic Conference championship.
The Knights enter the weekend with a 25-25 overall record, including an 8-10 mark in league play. The team is 6-14 on the road, most recently dropping two of three to USF on April 29-May 1.
UConn has won 10 of its 15 home games in 2016, outscoring its competition, 71-58. The Huskies reached the double-digit win-plateau on its home diamond for the first time since the 2012 campaign (11-5-1).
UConn sports a 19-9 record when scoring before its opponent compared to a 7-13 mark when surrendering the first run. Additionally, the team is 23-0 in 2016 when leading after eight innings of play.
With a team-best 15 steals in 2016, senior OF Jack Sundberg (Mansfield, Conn.) has moved in a tie with Dennis Dwyer (`94) for second in program history with 80 career steals. Next up, program leader Billy Ferriter (`13), who swiped 100 bags.

Senior Day Ceremony
Sunday's game will serve as the team's annual Senior Day game to honor the Class of 2016, which has racked up 123 wins in their four seasons in Storrs. The Huskies will salute Bryan Daniello, Sundberg, Devin Over, Bobby Melley, Connor Buckley, DeRoche-Duffin, and Nico Darras with a 10-minute ceremony prior to first pitch. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m.
