Baseball Arrives in Virginia for NCAA Regional

UConn NCAA Baseball Tournament Central

SALEM, Va. -The University of Connecticut baseball team left the Nutmeg State Wednesday morning and arrived in Salem, Va., just outside of Blacksburg, on Wednesday evening as the team prepares to open NCAA Division I Baseball Championship play against Virginia Tech on Friday.

The Huskies left from Bradley International Airport and landed in Raleigh, N.C. From there the team drove to Winston Salem, N.C. and practiced on the campus of Wake Forest. The team then ate dinner in Winston Salem before hopping back on the bus and arriving in Salem in the evening.

Connecticut will hold a public practice at Virginia Tech's English Field on Thursday afternoon. The practice will be followed by a press conference with head coach Jim Penders, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. EDT. Fans can access the press conference online via THIS LINK.
