The first round begins Monday at 7:00 pm and can be viewed live on the MLB Network and MLB.com. The Houston Astros, who selected George Springer 11th overall in 2011, have the first pick of the draft.
Tuesday will feature rounds 2-15, with the selections getting underway at 12:00 pm. On Wednesday, the draft wraps up with rounds 16-40, also beginning at 12:00 pm. MLB.com will stream the draft live for both days.
Springer was one of a program-best 10 players drafted in 2011, including Matt Barnes, taken 19th overall by the Boston Red Sox. RHP David Fischer was selected in the 30th round by the San Francisco Giants last year before returning for his senior season. Fischer was also drafted out of high school by the Los Angeles Angels and aims to be drafted for a third time in five years.
Overall 73 Connecticut baseball players have been drafted into Major League Baseball a total of 81 times since the draft's inception in 1965.
