STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut baseball team has been ranked No. 23 on the final 2010 USA TODAY/ESPN Coaches' Poll announced on June 30. The Huskies were also ranked No. 28 in the final Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Poll, which was released July 1.
In 2010, the Huskies surpassed the 39-win record in a single season on May 15 and set a program-best 22-game win streak from March 27 - April 28. They also were in the National spotlight throughout the season as they debuted in the National rankings on April 12 and remained amongst the top-25 throughout the year on numerous polls.
UConn set program records in more than nine team categories this season, including wins, hits, at-bats, runs scored, runs batted in, doubles, stolen bases, home runs and innings pitched.
