Kevin Ollie, UConn Head Coach
"I thought it was a good win, I think the guys did a good job of setting the tone early. It all started with good defense especially by Amida Brimah. We held Obi Enechionyia to three for 17 that was our key going into the game. I thought we executed on the offensive end and made buckets. Yet again we out rebounded a team which was another major key for us. We got to the free throw line and had our best free throw performance of the year. The team is improving and that is what I like to see."
On the energy Brimah brings to the team
"The whole team feeds off of it. I imagine all UConn fans feed off of it. I think the bench was great and they fed off of Amida and Jalen Adams as well. Kentan Facey is also playing unbelievable. We want to take this energy and feed off of it and keep working together."
On Facey’s play tonight
"His effort has been incredible. In the offseason he was getting in the weight room and spending time in the film room. In those film sessions he always looks me in the eye always asks me a question. He is focused offensively and defensively, and makes plays to help the team."
Fran Dunphy, Temple Head Coach
On the loss
"Our first half performance was not were it needed to be. Our defense was non existent. Adams was making plays and Brimah had some big baskets. Facey had very good efficiency tonight."
On the UConn Seniors
"Brimah continued to put his mark on this game and had some blocks that seemed to come out of nowhere. Facey over the last five games has started to play very well with terrific efficiency and Purvis is very difficult to stop. The seniors came up big tonight and are good leaders."
On his progression. "I feel like I am playing at a different level than I was before because my teammates are on me everyday to keep progressing and they get me the ball where they know that I can score."
On Jalen Adams. "Whenever he can get out there and get us all involved like he did tonight, that is going to help us play better."
On team improvement. "I think we could have started playing this way a lot earlier. We are a great team and I think we just had to talk more on the court and coach each other."
