Michael Perry, ECU Interim Head Coach

Opening statement:

“Obviously UConn shot the ball better tonight, I was concerned about their shooting and they succeeded at that tonight and that was the big key to the game. UConn really got in rhythm and was able to make a lot of perimeter shots and focus on good transition basketball.”

On the team’s play:

“I was really proud of our team. We got really grit and tough and continued to fight back. We didn’t allow adversity to sink our team, and I was proud in that regard.”

On UConn:

“I think this UConn Team showed a lot of experience and talent.”

Kevin Ollie, UConn Head Coach

Opening Statement:

“The game was a great game we only had six guys but they played great. They respected the jersey and played well. We went on a 16-0 run and didn’t allow a 16-0 run. We have to focus on rebounding but overall very proud of our guys and that their successful play showed.”

On the team’s play:

“I thought we did a good job rebounding, we didn’t settle for 3s, we got to the free throw line and was successful at switching up defense”

On the team’s perseverance:

“A team is going to make run, especially when you only have six guys, some guys said they couldn’t feel their legs but they really played through. Even when ECU got a run Rodney Purvis and Amida Brimah really stepped up.”

On the team’s injuries:

“We won the game, I always look at the glass half full not half empty. I really appreciate our walk-ons. Those guys have been doing a great job in practice. If we have to put them in I am confident we can play them for some minutes.”

Rodney Purvis

On team's injuries:

"It is what it is. You know it's life, different things happen, you just have to put your head down and move forward."

On 21-0 run in the first half:

"We shared the ball, we fed our bigs and they were scoring down low. We got rebounds, we got stops, and we were able to get out in transition."

On team's rebounding:

"I think I looked up at the stats and saw Kentan Facey has 9 rebounds in the first half, so he was huge of course. Amida is doing better and better on the rebounds and our guards get rebounds as well. We have been out rebounding teams lately in our games so that's something we want to continue to do."

Kentan Facey

On playing with six players:

"I thought we came out aggressive with the guys we had. We came out to a great run to start the game off and I think that carried over for us this game."

On team's rebounding:

"Yeah I feel like that played a huge part for us to get out in transition some. If they can't get the rebound then thats another chance for us to get out and score."
