UConn Head Coach Kevin Ollie
On the Huskies' defensive effort:
"We shot a low percentage. We had good looks, we just couldn't make them but our defense was strong and that's what we hang our hats on. It was just an unbelievable job by our players."
On the crowd's atmosphere:
"It was electric. The last three minutes and even when we were struggling in the second half and couldn't make a shot, they stood up and gave us a little lift. I really appreciate them coming out with the storm, we needed them."
On the Huskies’ effort in the closing minutes of the game:
"Our players stood together, we got two kills at the end of the game and the last 4:30 they (Georgetown) didn't score a bucket and that's what helped us. We executed down the stretch and made big plays."
UConn Graduate Forward Shonn Miller
On Phil Nolan’s performance:
“He does a lot of stuff that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. He is all about the team. He probably didn’t start off the season playing as much as he would have wanted to, but when he was called upon he was ready.”
On team needing a big win:
“We knew [Georgetown] beat Xavier on the road and that was a big win for them, which made this an even more important game for us. We came out and played like it.”
UConn Senior Forward Phil Nolan
On how he feels since being in the starting lineup:
“I feel pretty good and I am feeling confident as ever. I am just working hard and when you work hard good things happen”
On hitting key free throws at the end of the game:
“We work on free throws a lot in practice. I am pretty confident in my free throw shooting ability in practice and if I keep working on it in practice I knew it would carry over to the game.”
