Tim Jankovich, SMU Head Coach
On team's three-point shooting in first half.
"What I do know about this team is that we have a lot of good shooters. On any given night, and this is what has happened all year long, you never know where the fire may break out. We have had the fire break out of all different places. Tonight, obviously Shake (Milton) was amazing carrying us in the first half."
On UConn pulling within five in the second half.
"The message then was, and I remember this one well, was that these guys have had a great run, they are extremely warm, but I don't believe those shots will continue to go in as the pressure builds late in the game. I always believe that, and of course, once in a while, you get surprised, but I felt like our defense was good enough. They were just very impressive."
Kevin Ollie, UConn Head Coach
On poor three-point shooting performance.
"Let's talk about the defense though. When we got it down to five, you know what happened on the defensive end? So that's what I want to talk about. We had a blow by, when somebody could have taken a charge. They got a layup with eight seconds to go, so the threes were ill-advised and we can keep talking about that, but I really care about the defensive end."
On team's injuries.
"You can't get frustrated, that is part of life. I am just teaching them life lessons. Things happen but we have to keep focus, keep control of what you can control and life is too short to be trying to control something you can't. Nobody wanted Jalen (Adams) to get hurt, especially Jalen didn't want to get hurt, but it happens."
Kentan Facey - UConn Forward
On today's loss
"I would have felt a lot better if we had won."
What needs to be different to win a game like this.
"We have to come up with a sense of urgency. We have to cover the court better because they were knocking down shots, they drive and knock down shots, so as long as we lock in those things I think we're in a good spot."
Christian Vital - UConn Guard
On playing without Jalen
"It definitely changed things. Obviously Jalen is one of our better players and playmakers and to see him go down for a whole half, we struggled a little bit."
On Christian's Competitiveness
"From the start of the season, from the first game coach has been telling me 'you're not a freshman anymore'...it's on me to help the guys out and be that extra person and to be out there, to be solid, to be productive."
