After earning a hard-fought 69-57 win over Houston on Sunday, the UConn men’s basketball team has a quick turnaround when it plays host to American Athletic Conference foe Tulane on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the XL Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network with radio coverage on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.

UConn Outlasts Tulane, 76-67
Rodney Purvis capped a 20-point performance with a clutch floater in the final minute, and Connecticut held off Tulane for its fifth straight victory, 75-67 on Saturday night.

UConn (12-5) erased a seven-point halftime deficit and outscored the Cougars, 41-22, over the final 20 minutes to secure its third league win of the season on Sunday at Hofheinz Pavilion. Graduate guard Sterling Gibbs (Scotch Plains, N.J.) posted his third-straight 20-point game, connecting on 6-of-13 shots from the field, including 4-of-8 from long range. Sophomore standout Daniel Hamilton (Los Angeles, Conn.) grabbed a team-best nine rebounds and also chipped in 14 points in the win. As a team, UConn shot 48.1 percent in the second half.

The Huskies are 3-0 all-time against the Green Wave, including a 75-67 win on Jan. 2 at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans. In the game, redshirt-junior guard Rodney Purvis (Raleigh, N.C.) led the way with 20 points, while Hamilton scored 19 and added a team-high nine boards.

Connecticut sports a 3-1 record at the XL Center this season and is 11-3 (.786) all-time in American Athletic Conference tilts at its off-campus home facility.

The Green Wave enter Tuesday’s showdown with an 8-11 overall record and a 1-5 mark in conference play. The squad is coming off a 60-45 home loss to nationally-ranked SMU on Sunday. The Green Wave is led in scoring by senior guard Louis Dabney (12.9), along with junior guard Malik Morgan (11.4) and sophomore forward Dylan Osetkowski (10.7). Osetkowski is the team’s top rebounder (9.1), while Morgan is the leader in assists (2.6).
