HARTFORD, Conn. -- The UConn men's basketball team is set for its final regular season non-conference game of the season when it hosts Georgetown at the XL Center on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 12 p.m. The matchup will be broadcasted nationally on CBS with radio coverage available on the UConn/IMG Radio network.
UConn (13-5, 4-2 The American) picked up its second-straight American Athletic Conference win on Tuesday with a 60-42 victory over Tulane at the XL Center. Graduate forward Shonn Miller (Euclid, Ohio) tallied a game-best 18 points to go along with seven rebounds, while senior guard Omar Calhoun (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 12 points with a pair of assists off the bench. As a team, Connecticut set a new season-best in points allowed, holding the Green Wave to just 25.9 percent shooting from the field in the 40-minute contest.
Georgetown (12-7, 5-2 Big East) is coming off an 81-72 upset win over No. 5 Xavier in Cincinnati on Tuesday. Senior D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera leads the Hoyas in scoring (16.4) and assists (4.4), while senior Bradley Hayes is the team's top rebounder (6.6).
Connecticut sports a 29-35 all-time record against Georgetown in a series that dates back to 1958-59. The two programs met 58 times as members of the Big East conference, including a 79-78 double-overtime Hoya victory in the last meeting on Feb. 27, 2013
The Huskies are 4-1 at the XL Center in 2015-16 and owns a 253-89 (.740) record at its off-campus home facility in 40 seasons of competition. Additionally, UConn has compiled a 9-3 record in non-conference play this season, including a 7-0 mark at home.
