Riding a three-game winning streak, the UConn men’s basketball team continues American Athletic Conference play on Thursday, Jan. 28 when it hosts Cincinnati at the XL Center at 7 p.m. The contest will be broadcasted on ESPNU with radio coverage on the UConn/IMG Radio Network.

Boatright's Buzzer-Beater Lifts UConn Over Cincinnati, 57-54
Ryan Boatright hit a step back 3-pointer with two-tenths of a second on the clock Friday to keep defending national champion UConn's NCAA Tournament hopes alive with a 57-54 win over Cincinnati.

UConn (14-5, 4-2 The American) closed out regular season non-conference play with a thrilling 68-62 win over Georgetown in front of a sellout crowd at the XL Center on Saturday. Redshirt-junior guard Rodney Purvis (Raleigh, N.C.) led the way with 17 points off the bench, while graduate forward Shonn Miller (Euclid, Ohio) chipped in 15 points with seven rebounds in the victory en route to a spot on the league’s weekly honor roll.

Connecticut owns a 12-6 all-time record against Cincinnati in a series dating back to the 1994-95 season. In 17 games as conference foes, UConn owns an 11-6 all-time record, including a 5-1 mark at the XL Center.

Cincinnati (15-6, 5-3 The American), which has won four of its last five, is coming off a 97-75 home win over Tulane on Sunday. The Bearcats are led in scoring by senior guard Farad Cobb (11.7) and junior guard Troy Caupain (11.3). Sophomore forward Gary Clark is the team’s top rebounder (8.4).

Thursday’s game will be the Huskies’ penultimate contest at their off-campus home facility. Connecticut has won five of six games at the XL Center in 2015-16 and is 28-6 (.824) under head coach Kevin Ollie in the building in four seasons of competition.
